light middle-weight crepe
Japanese chirimen fabric is a kind of crepe with a crinkled texture,
with tiny little waves/bumps called shibo in Japanese.
This texture is achieved both by keeping the weft threads tighter than
the warp threads and by twisting the weft threads during weaving.
