This is a full page magazine advertisement which was published on July 25, 1896. It is

It measures 11 x 16 inches in size, and is in very good condition, with some spots of light discoloration along its edges (see photos).
It appeared in
Scientific American
, and is an industrial ad, which promotes a paper manufacturer, The Duncan Company, whose factory at Mechanicville, N.Y., is capable of producing 40 tons of “machine-finished and super-calendered” paper per day. It says:
“Our exceptional facilities enable us to handle the largest contracts with promptness and satisfaction.”
The ad features an attractive drawing presenting a
“GENERAL VIEW OF THE DUNCAN COMPANY’S PLANT ON THE HUDSON RIVER AT MECHANICVILLE, N.Y.”
Mechanicville was once known as “The Paper City,” and the Duncan Co.’s plant was subsequently taken over by the Westvaco paper company in the early 1900s.
This item would make a splendid display piece of local history. The page is dated
