    INDIAN CONSOLIDATES ALL OPERATIONS
Frederick E. Stote, President, of the Indian Sales Corporation,
will direct all operations at Indian.
IN a joint announcement by both the
Indian Sales Corporation and the In-
dian Motocycle Company, it has been
made public that the Indian Sales Cor-
poration had taken over the manufacture
of Indian motorcycles and will combine
    manufacturing in Springfield, Massachu-
setts, with the sales and distribution of
    Indian and British motorcycle lines.
As stated by Mr. Frederick E. Stote,
    president, the Indian Sales Corporation
has, in actuality, been carrying on the
motorcycle business for nearly two years
    with the manufacturing facilities at
Hendee Street geared to Indian Sales
    Corporation requirements. This latest
    move integrates all operations under
Mr. Stote’s direction and allows for di-
rect planning and development of pres-
ent and new models of Indian motor-
    cycles.
    The transfer by the manufacturing
company to the Indian Sales Corporation
    includes inventories, all motorcycle tool-
    ing, test equipment, drawings, designs,
patterns and all trademarks relating to
the production of motorcycles. The Sales
    Corporation has also acquired exclusive
use of the names “Indian” and “moto-
cycle,” and the name “motorcycle” when
used in connection with the Indian name.
Assembly facilities are already set up
at the Worthington Street plant of In-
dian Sales, and with actual control of
    manufacturing being formally taken
over by the Indian Sales Corporation,
an immediate acceleration of the pro-
gram for tooling and acquiring stocks of
materials needed for new machine pro-
    duction is under way.
In anticipation of this major industry
    development, Indian Sales’ new head-
    quarters in downtown Springfield has
    been quietly but gradually expanding.
Indian’s staff and personnel has also
been developed to the point where it now
    embraces all the experienced motorcycle
    production, engineering and sales talent
responsible for Indian’s past and present
    successes.
    Further, all engineering developments
instigated and carried forward at a
rapid pace during the past two years by
Indian Sales will be integrated with the
    design, engineering and development
    progress accomplished but never made
    public by the manufacturing company.
The end results will speak for them-
    selves.
Indian models for 1952 will put in
their appearance shortly after the first
of the year, and while details are not
yet available, the range -will be from the
15 cubic inch Brave to the 80 cubic inch
Chief, with heavy emphasis on Warrior
    models.
    Indian Sales headquarters at Worth-
ington Street now cover three stories of
the largest building in downtown Spring-
    field, are convenient to transportation
and trucking terminals and provide the
finest in modern facilities for the manu-
    facture and distribution of motorcycles,
    parts, accessories and associated prod-
    ucts.
In addition to the manufacture and
    distribution of Indian motorcycles, In-
dian Sales will continue to import and
    distribute British motorcycles and re-
lated products. The British lines that
    Indian handles are Excelsior, Norton,
    Royal Enfield, Vincent, A.J.S. and
    Matchless motorcycles, Amal carbu-
retors, Dunlop tires, and Blacknell and
    Watsonian lightweight sidecars.
