1977 Chevy CorvetteThis is an original, documented and lifelong California 1977 Corvette (last year of the desirable notchback/ sugar scoop rear window) with a solid chassis and straight body panels. This factory loaded Stingray checks all the boxes: Deluxe Leather Interior, Air Conditioning, Tilt-Telescopic Column, Automatic Transmission, Power Steering and Power Brakes. This vette ran just fine when parked several years ago, has not been started since and has not been abused. Authentic “Corvette News” magazines published by Chevrolet as well original dealer sales paperwork for 1977 furnished by the dealer when this Stingray was new, are altogether included as pictured.
EXTERIOR
Great body lines show mostly original paint, good body gaps and the doors open & close nicely. The factory original polyurethane bumpers remain undamaged and fit nicely as well. Some of the usual stress cracks are present to be addressed before repainting. Being from Southern California, the chassis looks excellent and shows no rust. The factory spare tire remains in place as well it’s original carrier. At some point many years ago, the passenger side t-top came off the car but for being unlatched and as such was replaced with another original (the headliner is included but unpictured.) Please note the optionally upgraded factory original slotted aluminum wheels polished to a brilliant shine with lugs and center caps inclusive as pictured and available at their additionally actual cost of 0.
INTERIOR
The all original desirable deluxe leather black interior looks very good for being 44 years young! Original one year only steering column looks good, feels tight and the wheel shows little to no wear. To make the interior look so good as new, one would need to install a new front reproduction carpet kit, top dash pad (usual cracks in speaker perforations) and door pane “arm rest savers,” which otherwise look remarkably great for their age! The seats remain beautiful and show no cracks, splits or tears.
MECHANICAL
The numbers matching date code correct motor appears to remain in place with all of its original emissions equipment (including standard thermostatic air cleaner) as mated to the factory three speed automatic transmission. Motor is free and ready for a fluids change, belts, hoses, tune up and a battery to run. Would either service or rebuilt the suspension, brakes and cooling system depending on the new owner’s intended use around town or for road tripping.
