Engine:
5.7L LT5 V8
Mileage:
2,097
Even though the horsepower wars have escalated and even the base Corvettes are packing 500 horsepower these days, there's something special about this 1995 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1. Those three little figures on a small badge mean so much to Corvette fans, and no matter how much horsepower the latest LS-series engines make, they'll never howl like the mighty LT5. Only 140 Torch Red ZR-1s were produced in 1995 (out of 448 total cars), which also happened to be the final year run of this special edition car. To find an example in this impeccably preserved condition, with only 2,097 actual miles, is nearly impossible, making this one of the strongest specialty Corvettes on the market today.
Yeah, I'll admit it, we love the ZR-1 (note the hyphen). They seem to have bottomed-out on the value curve and are seeing some quickly ascending appreciation now that they're suitably vintage for collectors. The plain-Jane looks that made them hard to explain to the neighbors when they were new also make them the ultimate sleeper today, although in Torch Red, you're getting attention whether you like it or not. This one carries a miniscule 2,097 original miles on the clock and that insane preservation shows everywhere you look. The chin is not scuffed, the rockers haven't been blasted by the fat tires, and it's extremely clean everywhere you look. Yes, I'm sure that if we whipped out the microscope we could find a thing or two the car acquired after driving it 2k miles, but we haven't seen anything of note and frankly wouldn't change a thing. For a car that was treated as something special by its enthusiastic owners, this one has led a very sheltered life and it shows. It wears the ultra-clean final iteration C4 nose, simple fender gills, and, of course, the high-mounted CHMSL that was the only reliable way to identify a ZR-1 from a distance.
The Torch Red leather interior is exactly right for the Torch Red exterior 'Vette. Yeah, it's not exactly subtle, but it's a Corvette after all, and attention-grabbing is a virtue in the ZR-1's case. The good news is that it's in spectacular condition, with seats that have hardly been used and carpets that look practically brand new. Master the somewhat peculiar C4 entry procedure and you'll settle into some of the most comfortable buckets to ever come out of Bowling Green. The combination digital/analog instrument panel works as well for the LT5 as it does for the LT1, although you'll note that the redline is a bit higher thanks to the deep-breathing 32-valve V8. Everything was standard and everything works in this low-mile hammer, including the infamous valet key that kills horsepower. The 6-speed manual transmission is the only way to go in a fast little red 'Vette, and even with that power stick beckoning the driver to hammer down on it with reckless abandon, the owner managed to leave nary a trace of treating this Corvette with nothing but white-glove respect. You also get two tops with this ZR-1: the limo-tinted glass version and the color-matched Torch Red top as well.
Chevy's LT5 was designed by Lotus and built by the aluminum experts at Mercury Marine, and there's simply no denying that it was a winner with a factory rating of 405 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque. Despite the apparent complexity, these are bulletproof engines that don't mind full-throttle blasts to redline, and thanks to the dual-stage intake and 4-valve heads, it never seems to run out of breath. That robustness was proved several times over when the ZR-1 set seven international and world records on the test track, and a reported 0-60mph time of 4.4 seconds (although many others claim it to be 4.7s) and a top speed of 188MPH. It's also happy to lug around town without complaining, with friendly gearing that are more than capable of every-day driving. But when you crack that throttle and run it through the gears, the shriek of all that metal flying around is simply bone-chilling. The 6-speed ZF gearbox appreciates a firm hand, and the sporty suspension does a fine job of channeling the power effectively. The undercarriage is spotless and unmodified, right down to the factory exhaust, so if you're looking for investment-grade, this is as good as it gets. Clean 5-spoke wheels look fantastic and wear correct 275/40/17 front and 315/35/17 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 performance radials with plenty of grip.
If you don't get the ZR-1, we won't try to explain it to you. But if you know how cool these cars are, then you know this insanely low-mileage example is an incredible opportunity to own the best. Offered with a reproduction build sheet and window sticker, title documentation, a binder full of miscellaneous original docs, and boasting a 2014 Top Flight win from the NCRS with a score of 99.6%, this is the one to own. Terms & Conditions
We recognize the need for complete transparency when buying/selling vehicles on eBay. That said, we did not build, modify, or have the luxury of personal ownership that would give us the advantage of knowing all unknown aspects of each vehicle. Transparency is king and we're happy to try and answer ALL questions our customers might have prior to purchasing. Additionally, we welcome and encourage independent inspections (see Inspection statement below).
FEES
: A documentation fee of 9 will be added to the purchase price at the time of sale. Sale price does not include any Title, License, Registration, State or Local Taxes or Processing Fees. We recommend you familiarize yourself with your individual state's taxes, transfer, or additional fees.
AVAILABILITY
: Please inquire prior to purchase to assure any advertised vehicle is not already sold. We advertise across multiple platforms where a vehicle can sell in a moment's notice. Vehicles may be sold prior to eBay listing end, and we reserve the right to end listings early or to cancel bids/offers solely at our discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.
CONTACT
: Note that you may hear from us after to the sale, but if you are a winning bidder, click a Buy-It-Now, or we accept your eBay Offer, it is your responsibility to contact us within 24 hours.
INSPECTION
: VERY IMPORTANT. If a buyer chooses to buy sight unseen (many of our buyers choose this option) the buyer accepts the vehicle AS-IS and understands we cannot address concerns post sale. For this reason, it's important all concerns are addressed prior to purchase. We make every effort to present accurate and reliable information, but use of this information is voluntary, and should only be deemed reliable after an independent review of its accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. It is the sole responsibility of the customer/buyer to verify the existence of options, accessories and the vehicle condition before time of sale.
PAYMENT
: We require a non-refundable 0 deposit within 48 hours of winning or commitment to purchase. Full payment is required within 7 days of offer acceptance unless other arrangements are agreed to in writing. If deposit and/or full payment are not provided within said timeframe, all vehicles will be relisted and transaction will be considered void. For balance of payment we will accept bank wire transfer (preferred), cashier's check, or personal check (vehicle shipment will be delayed until check clears). We also offer vehicle financing, please inquire for details prior to making bids/offers. SHIPPING: We have access to a network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway and upon your schedule. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody. Buyers are welcomed to trailer vehicles home and we are happy to have everything ready to see you off with your new vehicle.
DRIVE IT HOME
: If you plan to buy and drive home, please keep some things in mind. Anything is possible when it comes to a vehicle, especially a classic or antique one. We recommend transporting all vehicles to your home first, then driving it locally. Get to know the vehicle and its tendencies before embarking on a long-distance trip. If you choose to drive your new vehicle home, buyer accepts all responsibility as we are unable to control what may take place once it leaves our facility.
DOCUMENTS & VEHICLE TITLE
: All purchase documents are sent immediately upon purchase. To avoid delays, we recommend returning any required documents within 24 hours of receipt. Please allow up to 30 days for vehicle titles. Usually titles are available sooner, we ask for the extra time in the event there are unforeseen circumstances.
VIN VERIFICATION
: We photograph the primary VIN location of every vehicle and make sure that VIN exactly matches the vehicle's current title. Buyer agrees to hold seller harmless from any disputes arising from other hidden or secondary VINs present on the vehicle as seller only verifies the primary VIN location. If needed, it is the buyer's sole responsibility to verify secondary VIN locations their specific state may inspect, prior to purchase.
MILEAGES
: Occasionally our vehicles may be driven or simply moved around our facilities. Slight differences may occur so we recommend you confirm actual and current miles prior to purchase.
CONDITION
: We cover the obvious and do our best to describe our vehicles in detail. Even so, please have a transparent conversation with us before purchasing. Do be aware that all pre-owned vehicles, regardless of age, mileage, or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure. Finally, be advised that although our sales associates are here to assist you with your purchase, they are not trained or certified vehicle inspectors.
AS-IS
: All vehicles are sold "AS IS" and with no warranties expressed or implied. If you choose to waive inspection, do plan to have a detailed and transparent conversation with us regarding the vehicle's condition. Ask the hard questions up front. Please just call us, we are here to help and welcome all your questions!

Information is provided to the best of our knowledge and we make no warranty or representation regarding the accuracy, truth, or reliability of such information. We cannot be responsible for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies contained in information provided by the consignor/seller of the vehicle.
