50" Tall Antique Hand Painted Wood Gothic Revival Church Display Pedestal

  • Condition: This large (50" tall) hand painted wood pedestal dates to the late 1800's/early 1900's. It's original use would have been for a statue in a church. Note the slot in the front and collection drawer on the rear for donations. This is a very solid piece with original paint. The height makes it especially suitable for display of a larger piece of art, a plant or a flower arrangement. As expected, the original old painted finish is chipped and worn here and there giving it just the right patina of age. It is in very good antique condition with no significant damage (see photos). Note that there are several unused holes and fittings from earlier unknown uses. Also the top has a replacement strip of wood at the rear edge (see photos). Dimensions: 50" tall, 18" wide and 17" deep.
