Nice antique newel post. Does have old thick chipped white paint with a green underneath. The paint is missing where the rail attached to.  Has a nice beaded ball top finial. It is a salvaged piece so expect to find nails, nail holes, and small chunks missing. scuffs and scratches. Does have a few soft spots along the bottom (last 2 photos).  Overall good solid condition.
