Bobby Unser (3x Indy 500 Winner) refillable lighter.  Extremely Rare!
This lighter has never been refilled or used and is in Like-New condition or what I call "Perfect" condition.
The lighter was gifted to me personally by Bobby Unser.  It was 1972 and I was 22 years young, working as a waitress at the Holiday Inn Restaurant, just across the street from the Indy 500 race track.  I looked up that particular afternoon and who walks in??  Bobby Unser and Al Unser, Sr.!!  I was awestruck because I had been a race fan since I was 8 years old!  I tried to stop my hands from shaking, as I asked them, "May I help you?"  The humor continued from there...Bobby was in an especially good mood because his specialty-order of lighters had come in that day.  He chose to open the small package in front of me, as I talked about all the wins the Unser brothers had, which of course, they already knew!  The funny part about Bobby's lighters was what was on the back side. There was a picture of Snoopy in a race car with a flat tire;  and a very distinct expletive written on it (which I can't say or show on Ebay).  I'm sure those of you who knew Bobby can guess what it says! :)  Bobby explained that very few people would be getting those lighters, but he wanted to give me one as a tip.  I couldn't believe it!!  He handed me a lighter, along with a generous tip.  He was indeed one of the nicest, funniest people I have ever had the privilege to meet!
I have very much cherished this lighter all these years!  But the other day while I was visiting the Indy track Museum, a lady told me that both Bobby and Al had passed away in 2021.  It broke my heart...  When I got home, I made the decision to share my joy with another race fan.  I am selling this lighter in honor of one of my all-time favorite drivers, Bobby Unser.  May he rest in peace...
