Dowel-It Doweling Jig -- Self-Centering Drilling Guide

I listed this doweling jig as used but it's more like new old stock.  It is absolutely unused.  The box, however, looks awful.
Here's how I know the jig has never been used -- I bought one in 1976 for -- a big investment at a time when gas was well under a buck, dress shoes cost about and steak didn't require a bank loan.  My old doweling jig shows marks in the barrels from the drill bits and on the top surface where the drill chuck ground against it.  This one doesn't show a single scratch.  In fact, on opening the jaws, I had to oil the screw because the jaws were stuck closed from the manufacturer's original lubricant drying out.
Now it works perfectly, of course.  Like new -- because, in every sense except date of manufacture, it is.
The sides of the jig are cast aluminum.  They have a 2-inch capacity.  The center guide is solid steel.  It contains guides for 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16" and 1/2".   The steel clamping screw securely tightens the tool like a vise.  In fact, I've used mine occasionally as a clamp.
Like other jigs these days, this one is self-centering.  Simple operation -- no parts to lose.
