  • Condition: This exceptional pair of hand carved busts of Bacchus, the Greek god of fertility, wine and pleasure, is from France and dates to the early/mid- 1900's. The busts are solid walnut and are mounted on matching pedestals. Note the fine detail throughout. These would make impressive pillars for a fireplace but would work well in many other locations. They are unfinished on the backs (see photos) and made for use mounted against a wall or other surface. They are in very good antique condition with only very minor chips and discolorations consistent with their age. There is no woodworm or dry rot whatsoever. As we do with all of our furniture, we finished them with a coat of antique grade paste wax that will maintain its beauty for years to come. Dimensions: 66" high, 9" wide and 7" deep.
