ITEM: Vintage Heinz Nowarra WWI Real Photo of GERMAN PFALZ Dr.I TRIPLANE FIGHTER
The WWI aircraft photos I am listing were collected by Lieutenant Raymond Poterack from Grand Rapids, Michigan who was a US Navy pilot in WWII. In the 1940's he collected these Heinz Nowarra photos of World War I fighters and bombers. These are real photos developed from negatives. The images are from WWI and they were developed by Heinz Nowarra in the 1940' or early 1950's. So they are not strictly original to WWI, but they are not recent reproductions either. Some of these are quite rare and sought after by collectors. Raymond Poterack was later a McDonnell Douglas engineer who worked on the F-4 Phantom Jet design team. Heinz Nowarra was from Berlin and had a vast collection of aviation photos and later wrote many books on military aviation.
