Wonderful novelty metal evening purse circa 1940's to 1950's, combination compact/lipstick/cigarette case and more. Iconic New York City landmarks of the era (Polo Grounds) are incised with shiny gold highlights on the matte gold-tone metal. Look closely for all the wonderful landmarks shown on map of the city. Includes empty lipstick 2 piece holder that fits in side clamp, original unused powder, tortoise shell comb, area for cigarettes, mirror, and more! Measures 4-1/2" x 3" x 1" without lipstick, chain drop is 3-1/2". Inside in very good condition with minor wear to mirror surface; outside shiny metal is excellent but the matte metal shows significant wear and marks. Nevertheless this unique and delightful purse is sure to bring a smile and displays beautifully if you collect vintage NYC memorabilia! Please look closely at photos. Clasps tightly; appears one inside clasp has been reinforced.
