Amazing historical offering. This set of 7 original photographs created by the Indian Motorcycle Company of Springfield, Massachusetts and distributed to a limited number of Indian Motorcycle dealers capture the history not only of the Indian Motorcycle Company, but also of many highway patrols and police departments that this company served. Indian Dispatch Tow for police departments, New York City Indian Dispatch Tow of the Socony Service Fleet, Pennsylvania State Highway Patrol, Massachusetts State Police (Chief model), The Colorado Courtesy Patrol, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, (Bud Gentry and Chief Jack Hitch) Iowa Highway Patrol (Chief John Hattery and Assistant Chief Major Conley) New York City, Illinois State Highway Maintenance Police- with special mention of Chicago, Illinois, North Carolina and Texas State. Photographs are in black and white and have very good clarity. No real loss of clarity or color. These photos are nearly 100 years old! and carry important historical significance. They were originally in cardboard frames, which are included for protection of the pictures, but these cardboard frames are a quite worn from age. The original photos were sent out in these frames and glued to the cardboard backing. Through age, the glue has worn off and the pictures are no longer connected to the frame backing. However, the backs of the photos do still show the presence of yellow stain (flat, no bumps) from the glue. See picture of this. As stated, above, there are some small areas of light staining from age, but overall, for their age, the are in very good condition! Red marks NOT on photo. An amazing find.This item will be shipped in flat rate envelope USPS and wrapped in padding for extra protection.
