    Description

    These  metal pieces were considered ash trays but were often collected and kept as mementos of areas visited during the 1950's.  This Florida ashtray was particularly ornate with the red Florida letters across the top and adjoining the open mouth and teeth  of the alligator.  Bordering the outline of the state are palm trees, flamingos, golf courses and swordfish.  The inside of the Florida shaped tray is covered with the names and scenes of many of Florida's most well known areas, including Pensacola, Panama City, Rainbow Springs, Jacksonville, Tallahassee,Silver Springs, Daytona Beach, Tarpon Springs, Ocala,Orlando, Tampa, Singing Tower, Tuart, Fort Myers, Palm Beach, Miami, Sarasota, Hialean Park and others.
    The motifs are accented with small amounts of red paint and the fine detail in the metal is remarkable.  This little Florida ashtray is in very good condition and the paint is unscratched and still brightly colored.  Please see photos.  Thank you for looking.
