    VTG SABENA Airlines Scarf Commemorative 1960 Flight to NY Menu Drinks Cityscape
    This is a rare commemorative scarf given to passengers on the first commercial flight by jet to cross the Atlantic from mainland Europe to the US in 1960. The airline was SABENA which was the national airline of Belgium from 1923 until 2001 when it merged with Virgin Airlines.The scarf is made of acetate and is in good condition with only very light wear. The bright print shows an abstract cityscape of Brussels and printed at the bottom is a menu for the flight which included the drinks menu ( cocktails, wine and liquor) and the full dinner menu featuring Hors d'Oeuvre, Soup, Main Course, Vegetables, Cheeses and Desserts. There are no obvious issues with the scarf but there are some thinning areas of the fabric. It measures 25 inches by 25 inches.
