RETURN BLADE GUARD
FOR A VINTAGE DELTA 14” WOOD OR WOOD/METAL BAND SAW THAT HAS A 6" RISER BLOCK INSTALLED
This is the wood guard located to the left side of the work table.
Delta’s part number for this wood guard is LBS-191.
It is slotted to allow the return side of the saw blade to be covered to protect the operator.
This exact replica of the original equipment guard has been professionally cut and routered from clear (blemish and knot free) poplar wood.
It is 6" longer than the standard blade guard to accomodate the riser block's extra height.
The clearance cuts and blade slot duplicate the OEM guard.
However, we have improved the design by smoothly radiusing the corners, unlike the sharp edges of the original.
Our wood replica needs very little prep before it can be primered and painted to match the saw color or stained and varnished if desired.
This guard attaches to the band saw with an upper and lower formed sheet metal bracket that screws to this wood guard and captures the pins that hold the sheet metal covers in place.
The brackets are Delta part number LBS-179.
This listing is for the wood guard only and does not include mounting brackets or screws.
The intent is for the band saw owner to reuse the brackets from the saw they are rebuilding.
