World War 1 Imperial German Naval Officers Lion Head Dress Sword with Scabbard. Triple Etched blade faded, with some light to moderate pitting at the tip. Maker marked W.K. &C. Gilded brass hilt with scarce folding guard and custom green and red eyes, fine celluloid grip. Scabbard fittings are plated brass in the scarce hammered pattern finish. Leather scabbard with one tear across front of lower section, rigid and slightly shrunken. The blade will not insert fully into scabbard due to shrinkage. 90.4 cm overall, 75 cm blade.
